we meander the beach at midnight
suspended soft waves and moon
firs rearing black against stardrift
then someone stops, agape
look! there! and there!
we all stop.
mesmerized in delight —
phosphorescent winks in curl
of each wave
cold electric green blips
from nowhere, making
sentences of light,
enchantment
