May 16*

tree in puddle

puddles on pavement
reflecting perfect tree and sky

earthworm stretches across
the wet road, dodging traffic (!)

lummi mt shrouded in ominous cloud
opaque showers blur parts of outer islands

air tastes alive, tart
just like barely ripe salmonberry

  1. Such a wondrous poem that reflects on even this day here near Chicago, where it is coldish and raining. Thank you for matching it to my photo. Penny
