December 22*

sun over Orcas

somewhere to the south
the frazzled yellowgrey marl
of dim sun has shrunk
to its weakest.

darkness has closed in
the deep belly of grey is long, heavy

we need to know this,
to curl deep within.

and remember:
every day now
will be longer.

  1. I read “The View from Lummi Island” cover to cover. I like reading them interspersed here. The magic of image flows.
