September 2*

Lummi meadow

i sit in the meadow
          thinking
                    watching
                              feeling
                                        joining
the coherent vastness
                              grabbed by wonder

everything just
whirring and whizzing
15 billion year old molecules
of a loving cantankerous god

          was there a beginning?
          will there be an end?

—only if you can stop/hold this instant
